What an interesting year so far! And I’m not even halfway through the year, and I’m on my way toward accomplishing some of my 2021 goals. I have almost enough money saved up in my saving accounts. I’ve been writing on the regular and working towards publishing a novella within this year.
I got an extra job working Saturdays with my wife at her work as her assistant. It’s a little something-something at the end of every month. It’s a simple job spending more time with my wife, and I can see more of what she does. It’s quite interesting.
Speaking of my wife, she’s got her own side hustle where she’s making art pieces featuring violins, faux animal skulls partially covered in flowers. She’s gaining popularity with people selling one piece so far at $150. And at the time of this writing, she’s being featured at a small art show this Friday.
I’m happy for her and her art pursuit! Check her out on Insta at HayleyMakesStuff.
I’ve also been keeping up with this blog and posting the journal about my Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Being consistent and keeping up with it was one of my goals.
In addition to blogging, I’ve been podcasting with two other guys on a weekly show called “If They Won’t Listen.” I and my co-hosts, Ricky & Spencer, gather together with a guest and talk about their interest or current happenings and our thoughts on them.
They brought me in for an interview and told me the same day that I got the job. Since then, I’ve been doing this now for almost a month, and we’ve been having fun doing the show.
I appreciate them bringing me on and welcoming me, and I look forward to a future with these cats. Follow our show “If They Won’t Listen” on YouTube and PodBean.
We’re in May 2021, and things feel like they are on track.
I got a short vacation coming up next month. Hayley and I are going to Disney World with my family. She’s excited about it since it will be our first time experiencing the Star Wars park at Hollywood Park. She and I are dressing up for the occasion with some light cosplay. Her cute outfit pays respect to Ahsoka Tano, while mine is modeled after the smuggler class.
She, my brothers, and I are all excited to build our own lightsabers at the park. I put money to the side for something so novel. In this case, the money is worth it for the memory of my wife and I constructing cute lightsabers together with my brothers. That memory is invaluable. 😊
With all the Star Wars happening since coming off Star Wars Day, she and I’ve been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. She’s got her Twi’lek Sith Inquisitor, and I play as my Chiss Bounty Hunter. We’re the blue crew, LOL! It has been a while since we played, and we’re getting acclimated with how to play it again. We’re paused on it while she works on her art pieces for the show. We should get back in again by next week.
I also took advantage of the Star Wars comics on sale on Amazon this past week.
Something to read while I wrap up the Invincible series. I would have bought more Star Wars games, but I already have all of the Jedi Knight games and both of the Knights of the Old Republic. I’ll get to them one day.
I have a lot of media to consume, so I need to stop purchasing things I may not get to at some point in my life. Seems like a waste. Then again, it’s sometimes difficult to pass up a deal that’s going for $3 or $5 when it’s quadruple that amount regularly.
I still have one Star Wars book I should read, and after finishing two books, I should circle back to it and check it out. Maybe post a review about it. It’s a matter of finding the time to read it.
It’s all about making time for things. That’s usually the case when it comes to the things I want to do: reading, writing, quality wife time, playing video games. Well, if something is important, then you make time for it. Then it comes down to prioritizing how I spend that time and with what, or who <3.
That’s a little bit of what’s happening here in my world. So long, farewell. And thanks for reading!
