Emphasizing the Fun, Creative Stuff

The past week, I’ve been affected by a fever, that kept coming and going at inconvenient times. Mostly near the end of the work day and the rest of my home life.

I was dead. Quite useless, I was at the house.

Granted I was still able to do dishes, make a pot of morning brown, take out the rubbish, and clean the litterbox. But mostly I was crashed out in bed while listening to King of the Hill and Bob’s Burgers re-runs.

I don’t know if it was a fever or not, but my I was uncomfortably hot and mildly delirious. The other night on Tuesday, I’m in bed, my lower back aching while I’m sweating. My wife was next to me watching some anime which crept dubbing into my thoughts. I kept trying to process and hypothesize these anime characters’ existence and the nature of their supernatural characteristics.

It was tiresome, which didn’t help my situation.

Whatever bug I had also affected me wife because she was pretty out of it all week as well. So there we are two bed-ridden under-the-weather foxies watching King of the Hill and Ranma ½

Even though I was feeling pretty groggy, I still managed to get the courage from me wife and friend to practice voice-over lines for upcoming auditions I wanted to do this week. We had a lot of fun reading lines, giving coaching points, and complimenting one another on a job well done.

It’s always good to have a strong support system. I feel it helps with recovery to validate the good aspects of a person.

In spite of still feeling a little under the weather, I was able to go into my recording studio and record some audition tapes. The more I keep auditioning the closer my chance of landing another part like I did with the role I earned the other week.

Now, that I’m feeling more recovered there’s no excuse to fall back on and push forward to the next thing. I have some re-writes I need to do for my book, which is now closer than ever to being finished for publication.

Gotta get back into creating and writing fiction again. Doing so puts me in a happy place when I let my mind wander off and imagine fantastical scenario. I should find things I want to write for because writing with a purpose, intensifies my willingness to do it!

And I think it’s important that I should look into reevaluating some of my currents targets to see if there’s anything I should modify or add.

Here’s to a new week, getting back to the basic and winning habits and routines. Allowing myself to have fun with writing and with doing voice-over auditions. Don’t stress the small stuff and emphasize the fun, creative stuff.

  1. It’s interesting to explore other writers’ creative processes, and to note that creating and writing give you joy. I myself sometimes question if I’m in the right place, since the act itself does summon some dread. I just enjoy finishing and sharing.
