D&D Campaign Journal #3

Persivus and Faelyn come to the town, Darmen City, where they found the temple and clinic to give Faelin’s friend the needed help to recover. The Dwarf cleric stabilized Kaz further and where they learned he’d been poisoned by the bugbear and his goblins gang with something known as Foxdie.

The small city is at the center point where they are dealing with bandits, goblins, and bugbears. The City Chief, Ichabod Egret, utilizes the resources he has to defend the city, but citizens have also come in contact with the poison.

Before they could leave, the Cleric noticed Persivus ornate scimitar and informed them that the sword belonged to their City Chief. She advises them to the City Hall and returns it to him.

The city guards let them through upon learning the adventurers were responsible for the decimation of the bugbear and his goblin gang. Ichabod Egret thanked them and rewarded them and asks for their help with procuring the antidote root for the cleric. A plant that grows once every few days on the northeast side of Lake Kullie.

Later that night they came to Drunk Duck Inn to eat, bath, and rest. And though the city had citizens of Humans and Dwarves Faelin noticed Elves were not the most welcomed by the Humans. A bard on stage although talented was booed by a drunk human.

Persivus defused the situation and offered the man to have another drink on his coin.

The bard, Adeqywn Jones, was asked by Persivus to join their adventure but politely rebuffed the offer and took his cider to another table.

Faelin and Persivus woke up the next morning clean and well-rested and hungry for breakfast. As Persivus ate goat bacon in front of Faelyn who she believed was her lost friend, Steven Jr.

A city official burst through the doors looking for the two adventurers who slain the bugbear. Persivus and Faelin were told that Ichabod sent out scouts early in the morning to retrieve the bubble root plants, but haven’t come back.

The call to adventure so enticing that even the Adeqywn sitting at a nearby table was so intrigued he muttered to himself. Faelin overheard his mutterings and finally convinced that this story would make a great inspiration to his art joined the adventurers.

Upon getting to the other side of the bridge they saw three dead bodies, but one of the bodies was still barely alive. Persivus quickly healed the scout who informed the adventurers that they were ambush as they were retrieving the plants by bandits.

Persivus seeing the potential for help handed his crossbow to the scout, but a sudden arrow killed him as quickly as he was healed. Bandits!

Faelin created a fog cloud that concealed them from being seen and belayed the ambush. Persivus stepped from the cloud’s barrier readying to fight these bandits head-on providing the perfect distraction for Faelin and Adeqywn to sneak through the woods. Flipping the script on them and ambushing them instead.

They killed all the bandits except for one who was willing to divulge information about his cult of Vush Rin and lead them to their fort deep in the woods away from civilized sight. His life spared and thanked them for their kindness unlocked the door in return allowing them access to enter the fort.

Standing at the fort’s front door and ready to confront what laid ahead. But what lay behind those doors?
